John has over 40 years of playing experience and still plays at a very high standard. He regularly hits century breaks in competitive matches and in 2022 was crowned the English Over 55’s Champion. In the same year, John was runner up in the prestigious English Amateur Championship. Often referred to locally as the ‘Guru’, John excels at mentoring up and coming amateurs, and offers technical advice to beginner and advanced players alike. For the more advanced amateur, John would be a fantastic asset to have in your corner. On the table, his break building prowess and ability to clear under pressure makes John a formidable opponent. The Academy is proud to have John on the coaching team and we feel John’s coaching is that extra bit sharper than most due to the fact he’s still competing at such a high level himself.
