Terry first became a qualified snooker coach in 1988 after participating in a comprehensive week-long course by the Billiards and Snooker Control Council, which was conducted by Jack Karnehm at Lilleshall. As a competitor, Terry claimed victory in numerous local competitions, including the Cheshire individual title, and became the first to score a century break in the Bebington league on the Wirral. After a hiatus of two decades from snooker due to family and work commitments, he made a significant return to competitive play in both snooker and billiards four years ago.
He actively participates in billiards competitions on both the World Billiards and EABA tours and engages in over 40s snooker competitions whenever possible. Currently, his record high breaks stand at 135 in snooker and 126 in billiards.
In December 2017, he became an accredited coach with the WPBSA. He is now a resident coach at the North West Snooker Academy. Terry is willing to travel further afield as needed. Terry’s coaching has seen him volunteer at the ever popular in ‘Cue Zones’ at prestigious venues such as the World Championships at the Crucible and at the Welsh Open in Llandudno.
Terry is proficient in coaching all ages and abilities, he is DBS checked and due to his many years experience in coaching, work in a patient, understanding and non-judgemental manner, perfect for juniors, beginners or players struggling with confidence due to a dip in form. Terry is a Level 2 WPBSA certified Snooker coach.
